Really great episode!

This is one of the more fun and interesting episodes of the series. It's got it all...science, drama, humor and best of all a really great plot that uses all the characters very well.

One of my favorites!

The Fifth Race - Brilliant!!

One of the very best Stargate-SG-1 episodes!

I have watched it several times and still enjoy the journey with Jack O'Neill as Daniel and others endeavour to help him.

The Fifth Race
claudio_carvalho14 September 2015
Jack, Sam, Daniel and Teal'c travel to a planet and when Jack trips on a circle, he activates a strange device that holds his head and he faints. Back on SGC, the SG-1 has a meeting with General Hammond and Jack has a strange behavior, using different words. Soon they all know that the device has downloaded an alien language into his brain. Meanwhile Sam, Teal'c and two other soldiers travel to a planet expecting to help Jack. However they discover that the planet has two suns and they will burn with the heat and they are unable to dial to return to Earth. But Jack sends a schematic drawing showing how to fix the apparatus and the group returns to the SGC. Dr. Fraiser finds that Jack is using 90% of his brain capacity. What might have happened to Jack?

"The Fifth Race" is another original episode of Stargate SG-1. Jack's behavior is funny and his encounter with the aliens that have built the Stargate is a great moment of this show. My vote is eight.

good one

This is a very good episode , but one thing, the thing about we just use 5 to 10 procent of our brains, that is wrong, we actually use most of our brain. So the idea of this episode is a bit wonky.

Solid episode, good story

This was a very good episode where Jack becomes programmed by some tech for a specific purpose. The acting is great, the entire concept is good, the ending is great. The only gripe I have with it is that it was already done in TNG with Barclay, (though this had a slight twist) and the 5-10% brain usage argument was debunked and untrue. Solid 8, worth watching.

Smart Jack

A unique and fun episode that brought in some past storylines and developed an interesting connection to the galaxy beyond. Decent acting and authentic effects, the team had good chemistry.
