A real change of pace, great episode.

Senior Policeman Laughton arrives at The Station, after some small talk with Superintendent Proud, Laughton interviews Gamble, and interrogates him over a recent case.

I can't help but wonder why we're back in black and white again.

Where did this come from!!! Talk about a change in pace, and a real change in tone. Almost a fifty minute real time look at one of Gamble's cases.

This series really has explored Inspector Gamble's character and temperament, we see that even the smartest Detectives make mistakes, and have off (grumpy) days too. Here we see his work methods, his very integrity questioned.

I had absolutely no idea which way this was going to play out, after the previous two episodes, this came as a real curve ball, having had two big, charismatic villains, this offered something very different.

Some dialogue of the time that some may find offensive, made over fifty years ago remember.

Will Hicks ever get a date with Gamble?

Thoroughly enjoyed this, a rather intense watch, 8/10.
