AN EPISODE YOU COULD RELATE TO AT AGE 13!

My voice was changing about the same time this episode aired and its one I will never forget. This drove our music teachers nuts because nearly every day someone would walk into class with a voice an octave lower! And when they would take attendance for class, that would always be hilarious because you think that someone was being "creative", and even worse if you had a cold and a scratchy voice! Here, Peter's voice is changing and just as Greg is set to record a demo record, which results in lots of quirky complications. This was well written all the way around. The eventual production of the record is interesting and I am sure this inspired a lot of kids around the country to assemble some teen rock bands in junior high, if not composing songs! In actuality, this episode was a bridge for the Brady Bunch kids to promote their newly formed record label, and while they didn't have hits like the Partridge Family, you have to admit they probably had a blast doing their own thing. Those early teen years were priceless for a lot of us pioneer entertainers! Probably one of the most creative episodes of the third season, which marked a turning point in the series as the kids were all growing up fast! Compare this episode to the final season's episodes, and the kids have completely changed, but the 70s live on! Recommended. SEASON 3 dvd box set.

Just love that song!

Call me crazy, but I just love "Time to Change." It's a song that I have trouble getting out of my head. The story of Peter's voice changing is really so silly, but done effectively. "We Can Make the World a Whole Lot Brighter" was underwhelming, compared to the other song. I love the session where all the kids are recording "Time to Change." It was obviously the real voices of Barry Williams and Maureen McCormick. Maureen was good! She looked cute, and she had a cool voice. The best Peter could contribute was "sha na na na na." Interestingly, Mr Dimsdale was played John Wheeler, who played a mailman in a previous episode. Very enjoyable episode. Did I mention how cute Maureen looked? So I did! There's nothing more to say.

Warning: Spoilers
Greg writes a song and needs money to pay for recording session.

One of the more entertaining episodes of Season 3. It starts off as a Greg episode and turns into a Peter one. Peter suggests that all the kids sing the song at the recording session. They call themselves the Brady Six, as the Jackson Five were very popular at that time. The song Greg writes is called "We Can Make The World A Whole Lot Brighter", good for the times as people were becoming more concerned about the environment at the time. Peter finds his voice is changing which could ruin the recording. Greg writes another song "Time To Change" which features Peter's cracking voice. It's obvious that his singing is dubbed but it is very funny moment nonetheless.

Anyway, I grew up on The Brady Bunch and I'm sure I've watched perhaps 70% or 80% of them, and really it's a shame it didn't run for an extra season or two. Still, these episodes bring back the memories and it does seem to do for generation upon generation. What I found heartening is that the three imdb user reviews for this were posted in 2020, 2022 and 2023, so half-a-century after Dough Re Mi debuted.

Anyway, I loved this episode because Peter had to deal with the sense of being orally emasculated because his voice broke, and how his five siblings (three were step-siblings) helped him overcome that in a sensitive way.
