Why does she stay?
duckling-6899729 August 2022
I've been rewatching every episode of bewitched, and it is episodes like this that cement my hatred for Darrin. He's just absolutely cruel. Always belittling his wife, acting as if she can't do anything on her own, always getting mad at her for the dumbest, most inane things possible. Like this episode, where he gets screaming mad at her for something he convinced himself she did. It's infuriating. He just isn't likable! Why does Sam put up with this awful man? I know, I know, times were different, but still. He treats her with no respect and SHE'S expected to apologize to HIM. What is even his problem with magic?? He doesn't love his wife for who she is, and always tries to make her to conform to something she isn't. He doesn't trust her. A good marriage has to be built on trust. Man is living the dream, could have anything he ever wanted, has so many bigger things to worry about, and instead gets screaming mad that his wife cleaned the house a bit faster than the normal person. Most sane people would love that for themselves.

Slogan Contest

Darrin's mother encourages Sam to enter a slogan contest and she wins.

An amusing episode. Mrs Stephens is her usual meddling busybody. After Sam wins the contest (for Tinkerbell Disposable Diapers) Larry fires Darrin. He later takes him back but offers Sam a job too. Funniest moments has Darrin in a bar with a drunk (Dick Wilson, who made many appearances on the show, usually as a drunk).
