Uncle Fester has been pen pals with a woman looking for "the athletic type", not yet knowing she's been married something like five times! Fester knows she isn't into bald men, exaggerating his looks and athletic prowess! Gomez and Morticia want to help Fester impress her so they initiate a secret plan to secure him the proper toupee
My favorite scenes involve Lurch's grumbling (his eyes just cracked me up) at all the nonsense involving Fester and his courting of Madelyn (plumpy Elisabeth Fraser), demure Morticia's concern that Fester find the right hair piece even though his "good looks" should be enough (her words) making it her mission to see he is successful, Thing's popping out of the box to provide Gomez his cigar and light, Morticia filling Madelyn in on how to keep Fester happy (her response when told he is "electrical" is amusing), Morticia's "target practice" and bowling skills (Gomez not so much in the bowling dept), and the toupee salesman reacting to Thing and the Addams' pet lion. Oh and how Thing can be in one box inside the house only to surprise Madelyn in the box at the door to snatch back the "gopher tooth ring" proves that it isn't hindered by "limitations"! Not the most memorable episode or equipped with as many clever quips (Morticia always has a few, though, never failing to disappoint). You do get to see Gomez standing on his head (!) while Morticia paints his portrait (I was bummed it wasn't shown to us), and Fester is his usual bizarre self. Fester in his wigs offers plentiful sight gags
and Fester goes to impress Madelyn by spiking a tackling dummy much to Lurch's lack of enthusiasm. In fact Lurch's lack of enthusiasm in and of itself is a gas.
