A sweet little film
planktonrules26 March 2009
While I will admit that this short film doesn't have the polished Hollywood look that many other films have, I also must say that for a non-professional film, it sure had a lot to like. Most of this is due to a really sweet script, but there just isn't that much about the film not to like.

MY FIRST begins with a boy (about 11) talking with his grandfather while they fished. It seems the kid is infatuated with a girl but he's too afraid to act. Grandpa talks about his own love life and advises the kid to "grab the bull by the horns". Next, you see the boy cautiously knocking on the door of a house. When the young lady comes to the door, he's too scared at first to do anything. Then, seemingly out of the blue, he takes the bull by the horns.

The film excels because in addition to a lovely script, a great character in the form of the grandfather and nice music, it offers a rather universal likability we can all related to. Overall, a rather sweet little film.
