- Lots of violence, though there is rarely blood. Although there is a bloody swordfight scene but this scene is filmed in black and white.
- Many people are punched, stabbed, and shot. These scenes don't usually contain a lot of blood, though.
- The ending sequence -SPOILERS- involves a large robot and many smaller ones and includes a lot of violence (no blood but a lot of flying robot parts).
- There is a sword fight in black-and-white. At the end, one man is stabbed and a LOT of blood comes out (it appears black).
- The violence in this film isn't usually very graphic, but the film as a whole has a lot of extremely harsh/disturbing themes.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

- The ending may be distressing to some, as well as some of the reveals regarding the effects of war on normal people.
- This is a rather disturbing and intense film. There are many moral questions about the Neo-Sapiens and how they and the humans react and interact to each other.
- There is one very sad sequence where the Neo-Sapiens are hiking in freezing mountains and they are crying and screaming while burying those who have died from hypothermia. They even buried a baby.
- One extremely intense and disturbing sequence where the lead Neo-Sapien imagines himself as a human police officer, and he is forced to shoot a rebel who turns out to be his own mother.
- Overall, there is a lot of emotional and moral conflict throughout.
