Headed by the director Ingo Niehaus, Password: a look at the dark, is a tape that by its thematic sexual exploitation of girls and boys, was declared of cultural interest by the Government of Costa Rica. Since its premiere in 2002, the film has been shown at festivals like Trieste (Italy), Havana (Cuba), Viña del Mar (Chile), and the Latino Film San Francisco where won the Best of the Fest. Password: a look at the dark, is a suspense film tells the story of a beautiful teenager whose misfortune began as a beautiful friendship between two young men forged through the Internet. During the course of the plot, criminal organizations have access to information that the two youths are delivered via the Internet, and it is exploited to carry out their dark purposes. 12-year old Carla is forced to move into her grandmother's house after her father deserts her. Lonely and in need of a friend, she accesses her school's computer room after hours and begins chatting with a 14-year old boy on the internet. But little does she know that the boy is actually a sexual predator who snares young girls through online chat rooms. Carla consents to meet him and is kidnapped. Her boyfriend, Andres, tries to rescue her, but also gets abducted. This is merely the beginning of a hellish ordeal for both children.
