Mohan is in jail for killing his dance partner . He is a famous singer . He is awaiting death sentence .Lakshmi is the police chief . Revathi , his fan pursues him in jail. In our movies, civilians move in and out of jail rooms freely while singing songs . She expresses her desire to marry him saying she loves him and his music. Finally , a reluctant Mohan relents and they are married in Lakshmi's house . Revathi tries to kill Mohan on their first night . She thinks he is responsible for killing her brother , his dance partner. Mohan tells her the story that its not him but their troup owner who has done that . Revathi takes him on the pretext of going to some temple from Lakshmi's house and escapes with him to another house . Down the lane , Lakshmi realises that he is her long lost son but continues searching for him as his date of hanging is coming near . A lot of chase and evadings later , all ends well with the real culprit being caught .He has his own side of this story . Alls well that ends well . Revati is a treat to watch in her western dresses before marriage and sarees after marriage . A ruffled, hassled Mohan manages to get our sympathy as some one waiting for his death sentence . Lakshmi is as usual on par.
