Those New Fangled Autos!!!
kidboots3 March 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Don't quite know why it was Henry's fault, just a cute little short showing the pitfalls that can happen when dealing with those new fangled automobiles. This must have been one of a series in the married life of Harry and Betty. Both are eager to purchase a car but only Betty has been squirreling away left over house keeping money. She secretly buys a car but when she drives to Harry's work both he and the car become the butt of office jokes. When Betty drives off in a huff, the car breaks down on a country road and she gets a lift back in Henry's car - he is an old boyfriend and she has left her car to the mercy of a gang of little ragamuffins who strip the car of seats etc.

Packs a lot of plot into just over 10 minutes. Harry hears Henry making a date, thinks it's Betty (it isn't), goes bananas and the film ends with Betty having to tow Harry away, by the car he found so much to sneer at!! Elinor Field was pretty young (born 1902) to be playing a staid married lady. Apparently she was a comedienne for the Triangle Company who began acting straight out of school.
