Folk tale
sandeepmsundaram18 October 2006
Nagamandala is a movie based on folk tales spread in North Karnataka India. The movie speaks of a neglected wife seeking ways to get her husband's affection ending up making a snake happy. The snake takes the form of her husband and comes to her and her life is changed totally.

Movie portrays the lifestyle, food habits and routine habits of medieval period Karnataka. Essentially agriculture based, animals had a vital role in human life. Snakes are considered sacred and are feared and worshiped. A scene from film displays a women fidelity being tested by asking her to dig her arms into a snake burrow.

North Karnataka dialect is used for conversation. Added up with a few wonderfully composed songs, the movie is an absolute entertainer.
