This is the third film about Thor and Danni, which are two fellows that take each day as it comes. The first film Nýtt líf is about when they go to one of the small fishing village in Iceland to work. In short that village will never be the same. In the second film, Dalalíf, they become farmers, when they promise to take care of a farm while the real farmer goes on a holiday. As usual they turn everything upside down, with their simple, though good hearted look on things. In Löggulíf, they have more or less by accident, joined the police force. They are more interested in leisure time and getting to know better pretty women they happen to arrest one evening. The woman is connected to two older ladies who have taken a city worker hostage. What I love the most about Löggulíf is the car chase. Never before in Icelandic movie have a seen better car chase, which takes us through half of Reykjavik. I've been able to show my English friends this film, even though I only have it in Icelandic, as so many of the jokes are visual.
I'm sure that this film is not the best thing to come from Iceland, but it will surely entertain you. I just hope that all three films will be released on DVD soon, and this time with English subtitles. I would be the first one to buy them.
