The suffering after murder..
rtoac15 February 2021
This is a Malayalam film starring Ashokan, KPAC Azeez and KPAC Lalitha in key roles.

The film is clearly a precursor to the landmark film in Malayalam cinema - Kireedam. But like one based on a novel, it tries to leave food for thought with its open ending on what happens next..

The film clearly overplays a murder done in self defense. And has the protagonist being hidden from police when they instead should have supported him by giving the proper perspective to law enforcement (Raman was publicly threatened by Prabhakaran Pillai).

However keeping those flaws in the story aside, the primary theme of the film is the guild of this teenager who had committed murder and had to live and adjust to life in hiding.

And we are given a peek into his mind when Raman at times feels awe towards how did Prabhakaran Pillai evoke and maintain fear in the minds of whoever had heard of him. And the overpowering guilt when he visits Prabhakaran Pillai's home, and especially sheds a remorseful tear upon seeing Pillai's children..

Overall great performances and direction. Worth a watch.
