Boring.
McBuff17 April 2001
13 years before "Nattevagten" scared the living daylights out of Danish cinemagoers, director Jens Ravn made this little seen psycho-thriller set in the Danish countryside about a married couple (Helmuth and Nørby), who after losing their unborn child invites a young woman (Faurschou) to stay at their house. The mysterious woman has a thing for wolves and eventually bring several of them to the house, but there´s something really strange about her... Unfortunately, this ponderous film is all talk, and the main characters so unsympathetic that you couldn´t care less about the outcome. Furthermore, director Ravn doesn´t seem to know what to do with the wolves, making them look just about as scary as 101 dalmatians.

I have tried to find something positive to say about this movie but nothing springs to mind.

O, yes: there's so few people in it that it's really easy to keep track of who is who

Another positive: Luckily it is not as long as it feels (it feel like 3 hours.)

What?!??

How can anyone say that this is boring?? It can only be because people don't understand it!! This is NOT a movie about wolves or werewolves, it's a movie about a crumbling marriage that's threatened by the appearance of a younger and more exciting woman. It's a very strong movie, and it's a damn fine thriller, too!! One of the other users mentioned "Nattevagten/Nightwatch"...but what, exactly, was new in that movie?? No, this movie is the one to see if you want Danish horror. True horror isn't about ax-wielding maniacs, true horror is taking the clue from everyday life, and then plant normal people in weird situations. Anyone who fails to see that, should stick with the teeny-bop movies and let the rest of us enjoy art!!
