Sex & Nudity

  • Not Rated, but would probably be:
  • PG-13-Thematic Elements involving Abuse, Brief Language and a Scene of Sensuality
  • some kissing. A man kisses a woman, he then drops his pants (we see his legs) the scene ends but sex is implied.

Violence & Gore

  • Spousal abuse, some of it is rather intense (especially for a tv movie), such has hitting. Depiction of a man being shot
  • A man beats his wife in the car. She's later seen with a bruise.
  • In several scenes you hear a man and a woman arguing. Sometimes, he slaps her, throws stuff at her, etc...
  • A woman has several bruises all over her body from her abusive husband.
  • Please see below for more details.

Profanity

  • A few mild cuss words here and there.
  • A man cusses his wife out during their arguments.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • On the way home from playing golf, a man is drinking beer.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A young woman is abused physically and emotionally by her abusive husband. Some examples are:
  • ~He always beats her, screams at her, calls her names and gets angry when she spends more time with their son than him.
  • ~ He is yelling at her in one scene when she asks for his help with the baby, he pushes her and orders her not to tell anyone about him fainting at the hospital ever again.
  • ~ He beats her up in the car on the way to the Golf Course and her parents' house.
  • ~ He pokes her in the stomach while she's pregnant and beats her up for trying to leave.
  • ~ The young woman shoots her husband in self defense after an argument.
  • As a side note, the young woman's parents' marriage is failing as well. The film does not go into much detail about their circumstances, but it is clarified that the young woman's father is abusive towards her mother, and their daughter is aware of that.
  • Bottom line: This film contains many dramatizations related to physical and emotional abuse that many women face with their husbands. The situation presented can be categorized as "worst case scenarios." It should be viewed by mature audiences only. It may be all right for teenagers to see and educate themselves on the issues, but ideally, they would watch it with a parent, a teacher or another adult who could hold a discussion with them afterwards.
