Sex & Nudity

Violence & Gore

  • There is a scene where a man is stabbed in the neck, although there is little or no blood, it comes as a surprise and is disturbing.
  • While there is very little violence, it is quite disturbing.
  • A man is strangled to death, and others are executed in a non-graphic but still brutal way. We also see a couple of characters who are said to have been tortured heavily and have faces covered in scars and bruises -- one of these people subsequently dies.

Profanity

  • Some very mild language.

  • There is period smoking throughout the film, including a last cigarette scene before an execution.
  • Characters drink in social situations.

  • This movie is very hard to watch and pushes at an R rating, there is no blood shown but there are many death scenes that are very intense.
  • While very little is shown, the entire film has a very dark and menacing tone. It will very likely be disturbing to younger viewers.
