Sex & Nudity

  • No sex/nudity, just a few minor references (that sort of hint at sexual material)

Violence & Gore

  • Very mild violence but still very disturbing. There are intense scenes that involve children. Most violence is implied and not fully seen. Theres a great deal of obvious murderous (or aleast harmful) intent

Profanity

  • a couple of minor swear words, mainly british cursing

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A girl who says she is 14 smokes in several scenes.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • If released theatrically today, it would have earned a PG-13 rating for underage smoking, mild language, and thematic imageries of child abuse. One of the disturbing British films from the 1960s.
  • A young boy pretends to have hung himself in order to scare an old woman.
