A reasonably good entertainer with a social theme.

With women's education as its theme, the film was a reasonably good social entertainer with good music by Sachin Dev Burman. Lata Mangeshkar's "Pawan diwani, na maani", "Khanke kangna, bindiya hanse", "Jaani tum to dole daga daike" stand out. Mukesh, who has sung very few songs for Sachin da had a good song in "Ai dile awara chal, phir wahin dobaara chal".

Warning: Spoilers
One of the best movie with special emphasis on eduction of women in an era when it was missing its recognition. Writings of Mohan Sehgal and the direction of Rajendra Bhatia, joined to uplift the noble cause with the awareness among the masses in the Indian society. The movie was in continuation of another successful movie "ANPADH" by the same producer and director of Bollywood in the same year. It appears that presentation of such movies became a reason to develop awareness while encouraging the masses in India to seriously consider to implement it. Thanks to such producers and directors to strive to the noble cause.

I watched the movie in the year 1962 and then in my later life in 2020.

Emotionally the movie had a special meaning for me and encouraged me to follow the inner concept in my own family to fulfill my heartfelt desire.
