  • At night, a man is ambushed as he's walking out of a house, knocked out and taken hostage; when next he is seen, he is dumped in an alley, having been beaten up, with a bloody forehead. Shown in shadow profile, a man is shot and killed; another man suffers a bullet wound. As he is being held at gunpoint, a man secretly pulls a gun out of a drawer and shoots the man holding him. With high tide approaching, two men are pinned in a car wreck on the beach.

  • With the intent to kill his car passenger and also to commit suicide, a man guns his engine going down a coast highway with a cliff on one side. He suddenly views over the cliff and the car crashes down the cliff onto the beach. They both survive the crash but are pinned in the wreck, one hoping for rescue and one suicidal.
