Lost Silent Drama Starring Violet Mersereau
PamelaShort14 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Mary Blake ( Violet Mersereau ) belongs to a theatrical troupe and falls in love with Kirk Hardy ( Sidney Mason ) after she arrives in the town he lives in. A short time before, she had been tricked into marrying a theatrical producer, Richard Kearney ( James O'Neill ) and she tries to explain this to Kirk, but he refuses to listen. Later, Mary and Kirk become married, but Richard finds Mary and tries to seduce her. She manages to fight him off, but not before Kirk's priggish mother observes the encounter and is shocked. She tells her son that his wife has cheated on him, and Kirk throws Mary out of the house. After Kirk badly wounds Richard in a fight, Mary is finally able to tell him the truth and they are happily reunited.

This lost silent film has a typical storyline for actress Violet Mersereau, who was popular in dramas featuring a helpless girl who overcomes and triumphs in some pretty grim circumstances.
