The Lon Chaney Thing is a PG rated comedy about a struggling actor ("Mark") who is frustrated with his floundering career. He happens to catch on TV the 1923 silent version of Hunchback of Notre Dame and subsequently becomes obsessed with everything Lon Chaney, the star of the film. Mark has an epiphany and unfortunately comes to the conclusion that he can advance his acting career by becoming a master of disguises and character makeup, like his idol. Mark tries out his new approach at work and on his family, with catastrophic results. In the end, Mark does achieve a victory, but it is in spite of his efforts, not because of them...
