This is such a gut wrenching episode. I guess for many people, Thanksgiving is a time of confrontation and anger--where people come with their political views and their angst and ruin the whole thing. I can honestly say that I've never experience that because I try not to hang out with people, even relatives, under those circumstances. Here we have a family that has been through all kinds of pain. We have the morbidly obese woman and her insensitive self centered, boyfriend. We have the actor with his issues and a woman who is filled with her own stuff. Then there is the secret that is revealed after 35 years. What is rather well done is the flashback where the traditions of this thanksgiving began. Randall is now going to have to confront the realities. When you're in pain, you strike out. This Thanksgiving is now a weight over everyone with issues ahead. Really well done and painful to view.
