Rob N Roll (2024)
9/10
First of its kind in Hong Kong films
3 March 2024
The film is good. The more I think about the film after leaving the theatre, the more I feel that it's really good and exceptional.

I didn't know what I watch and I didn't know why I laugh when I was watching it. However, the film is just entertaining, funny and meaningful.

The director Albert Mak and lead actor Aaron Kwok have shown us a new path - the storytelling style, the rhythm and the music are very different from most, if not all Hong Kong films, making it first of its kind. I guess that's why the film receives very extreme feedback from the audience. They either love it or hate it, and I'm one of those who love it.

Well, I can't say this creation is entirely new. I would place Rob N Roll in the same category with Snatch by Guy Ritche. However, they are not the same at all, except that they are both crime comedy. Rob N Roll is distinctly different in its storytelling, its kind of humour and its rhythm.

I'm glad that the team behind Rob N Roll have successfully trek a new path. I'm glad that I chose to watch this film among all during the Chinese New Year holiday.
