7/10
fun for awhile
7 February 2024
12 year old Griffin Campbell moves to the small town of Sulphur Springs with his parents who are refurbishing the abandoned Hotel Tremont from his father's childhood. He is befriended by classmate Harper and is told about the ghost of a girl named Savannah Dillon who went missing thirty years earlier. The two young kids find a bunker underneath the hotel and go through a passage back in time. They discover that Griffin's father and Harper's mother had known Savannah, and that they are hiding secrets from their past.

It's a good initial premise for a Disney channel sci-fi fantasy mystery. I like the search for Savannah. I like the two lead kids. Eventually, it's another time travel show which gets too convoluted. That happens sometimes when time travel muddies the waters and the show struggles to keep twisting. It does some ill-advised supernatural turns. A show can lose cohesion over time. By the third season, it's jumping over a time traveling ghost shark, but it was fun for a season or two.
