Well it's not the best Frankenstein film ever but it's not the worse either. The make up on the titular daughter of Frankenstein is not awful but when you do realise it is supposed to a woman (lipstick!) that plausibility decreases. The story of Dr. Frank trying to imitate his forebears by creating life in a hidden laboratory is rather routine. More interesting was the early part of the film when he is giving laced rum punch to Trudy, his employer's daughter, to turn her into a monster but that plot line was dropped. Trudy is played by the lovely Sandra Knight and is most watchable. The other members of the cast vary in talent but there is the reliable John Zaremba as policeman Lt. Boyle to bring dignity to the proceedings. Donald Murphy is suitably unhinged as Frankenstein. Unfortunately there is a musical sequence by the swimming pool (with laughable dancing) that stops the movie in its tracks for far too long. Though the film could have done with it's running time reduced too. For Frankenstein completists only.
