Whacking Day has Barry White playing himself, and one thing I loved is when Mayor Quimby gets in hot water for appealing to the masses to try to whack snakes, but he failed to read the changing atmosphere of the room.
Anyway, Bart's homeschool efforts are quite funny and it's a shame it didn't continue but I guess what would Principal Skinner be without Bart and his antics to bring down the school.
For me, it's the first 10 seasons that represent the golden era of The Simpsons, with some episodes after that worth watching and all. Whacking Day is a proud part of the golden era and worth watching definitely.
