Monster High: The Movie (2022 TV Movie)
6/10
Monster High School Musical

I've always been a fan of Monster High and only heard about the film through social media.

The film was literally hated into the ground and I can only partially understand the hate. Clearly that's not what you expect from Monster Hight: a musical with terrible special effects.

The special effects really could have been done better like the fiery hair or the magic of Draculaura.

What's bad? 80% singing 20% movie.

My personal critical point: personality of the character (partly!!)

Draculaura: In the original Draculaura is sweet, friendly and also a bit childish. But here? Shes mean and selfish in the beginning.

Clawdeen: She's confident, looks great, intimidates everyone and never lets her friends down. She is also extremely loyal and protective of her friends and family, but can quickly become angered if her loyalty feels threatened. That was also implemented well in the film.

Frankie: They're friendly and polite but also a little clumsy. Being so young makes them the most naive of the clique. They trie to learn everything they can about the world, which they does by reading monster teen magazines. (in the OG) Despite setbacks, they remain optimistic, hopeful and determined to find their place in Monster High. That partly came across in the film.

I watched the film on TV and at the end a large piece was cut out, so I can't say anything about that. But what I can say is that I'm looking forward to the second part. Maybe we'll see more of the other MCs then! (Ghoulia, Lagoona etc.)
