The idea of two famous Japanese ghosts fight each other is a interesting idea, but oh boy there's a lot of problems with this movie. Most of the movie spends most of the time on the Sadako plotline and it feels more like a reboot of the series. Also the Kayako plotline is barely shown until the climax of the movie. The movie lacks atmosphere because things happened way too quickly and isn't effective like the previous installment. Also the movie tries to do a self-awareness in it, but it's poorly executed on how it done in the movie. And the movie is pretty boring throughout. The battle between Sadako and Kayako is extremely disappointing because it ends in a stalemate and there's really no fight in the movie. It gets worst when the characters plan gets backfired by having the ghosts combine into a single entity with terrible CGI on them. And the ending is really terrible.
