The overall theme of this movie is to accept who you are and be who you are. It is even reflected in the diversity of the cast.
The main character is a girl just turning 15, Clawdeen Wolf. We first see her on a skateboard in a skate park, when she falls the other kids see who she is and chase her. She is not accepted because she is half monster, via her deceased mom. She dodges them just fine but it reinforces her resolve to go to Monster High.
Her dad helps her find the place. There she makes a few close friends who accept her even after they find out her secret. But her being half human results in a number of issues. In the end it must be resolved, they each has to be who they are meant to be. It also is a musical, there are a few song and dance routines throughout.
Not a great movie and pretty cheesy in spots but I found it suitably entertaining as something different, not my usual choice to watch.
