When a wealthy man is found beheaded on a Caribbean island, police chief Quinn (Denzel Washington) investigates and has to find local criminal and childhood friend Maubee (Robert Townsend) who the local men of power and influence are determined is responsible.
Enjoyable mystery thriller which director Carl Schenkel handles well, with good set pieces, a perfectly decent mystery, some great music, including a version of 'The Mighty Quinn' and a wry slice of humour throughout. The cast all give convincing performances and Washington is, as usual, a strong lead. If I was to quibble, I found Townsend's character ill fitting and rather annoying and baddie James Fox' story didn't really get resolved, otherwise, a lot of fun.
