Lapkus Herself Deserves a 10
12 April 2023
When a guy runs out of Farrelley Brothers movie it can be hit and miss attempting to find something with the same continuous laughs and rhythm. That search brought me to watching The Wrong Missy. I figured being a Happy Madison production it would have moments, but not that total package, especially in the accompanying music. I feel I nailed it going in after watching. Perhaps it was a bit better than that with caveats. The major "plus caveat" being the Missy character as portrayed by. Lauren Lapkus Lapkus absolutely steals the show in every scene she appears in.

Otherwise, I couldn't help but notice the crude jokes don't just have that important saving grace of the writing in a Farrelley Brothers movie. Here it just gets right on the edge of being much more uncomfortable. I mean , to me, The Farrelley Brothers and their writers can lampoon what is now "woke" and it still feels very humorous and not at all offensive as a proper send-up . These things separate this from the best comedy of this genre. That said, this is a pretty decent comedy if you are so inclined, at least until those brothers I mentioned drop another gem. A good marking time was had by...me!
