(2007) They Wait
HORROR
Sarah (Jaime King) a stepmother of a young Chinese boy Sam, living in China, when her Chinese husband, Jason (Terry Chen) receives a call that his father had passed away, he decides to take his family back to Vancouver, Canada for the intention of helping his mother in terms of funeral and business, and so forth. Once there, he finds out more revelations regarding his dad's troubled past, and that in turn exposes his only son to the supernatural who would be very slowly become possessed.
It has rings of Japanese influence from popular movies of "Ju-On" or " "Ringu" that inspired Hollywood remakes using American actors. Except that the set up in this one is original with a different spin, even though the overall experience is not scary at all. The thumbs up rating is strictly for it's originality.
