It's a children's movie, of course its going to be long and non-sensical, its going to look pretty and it wont have a solid plot because children don't look at the plot.
It's pretty, the animation is stunning and very eye capturing. It's not really graphic and there are no 'annoying' characters, just elementary school children who are in a terrifying situation.
It may have been dragged out but the emotional connection between the characters made it worth it.
Netflix isn't making children's movies to please you its for the intended target audience and movie night at my house was great!
