A dash of Nordic chill & Jewish folklore
14 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
A lovely tense subtle horror with an enjoyable secondary love story theme. The start feels much like a cross border love story with European interests. We meet our two protagonists Maja an actress and Leah an academic. They begin an interesting love story which starts to show signs of complications mostly through the meddling of a stricly regilous mother.

This Shudder surprise was a welcome addition to the growing Jewish horror genre (also see The Vigil.) We are introduced into a universe of ancient horrifying folklore villains most notably The Dybbuk. This spritely horror leaves the viewer feeling optimistic yet cautiously pragmatic.
