Albuquerque (1948)
5/10
NOt Scott's Best
18 January 2023
I agree with the critics here that Albuquerque is not Randolph Scott's.( Cole Armin) best film. The blue screen, fake town and mountains were obvious and the photography was poor. I also do not like Gabby Hayes.( Juke) He always lays the same character and it is aggravating. Cole Armon is a character that Scott can play in his sleep and even his showdowns with Lon Chaney jr ( Steve. Murkil) first fist then him were poorly done. Especially the gunfight where Scott is standing in the open and should be shot but isn't.. The highlight is Barbara Britton ( Letty Tyler) who starred with Scott in his previous ( and better film Gunfighters): Here she is the good bad girl unlike Gunfighters where she is bad. In neither film does she end up with Scott.( here Catherine Craig does ( although Britton is hotter)). I give it 5/10 stars all for Barbara Britton.
