Low-budget head scratcher

Warning: Spoilers
Started watching this and then part way through I realised I'd seen it before. Oh well ... kept going cos I was intrigued.

For starters, it's very low budget. I mean very. And the acting is very wooden. The film itself is shot pretty well though ... and it was funny watching the credits because it seemed like only a handful of people did most of the jobs - writer, director, DOP, casting, clapper, lighting, etc etc.

The story itself poses so many questions I'm not sure I'll remember them all here.

Why does he go to the motel when he's told by himself not to. I sure wouldn't and it's not explained why he did.

Why does he decide to try and flag himself and Lauren down? Why not just speak to them when they were right there in the diner or the motel carpark? And how did he even get there when they were driving (and left in daylight but crashed at night) and he was on foot?

Why is he hiding in Lauren's closet when another version of himself is breaking up with her. Creepy much?

Overall it is a good, well thought out premise ... I think. Definitely confusing and makes you think. Luckily the thisisbarry website provided a detailed explanation of the movie so it seems to make sense.

I liked that the motel manager turned out to be Aidan. The whole going back to 1957 day by day to save his grandfather and then live out the rest of your life from then is neat.

53/100.
