I see some hate for this anime, which I find to be a bit overdramatic. I have been a fan of Junji Ito's work for many years- while this anime is obviously less than perfect when comparing to the original source- it's a fun interpretation of various stories.
I personally love horror anthologies and getting to see versions of some of my favorite Ito stories was more than worth the watch. I gave it 10/10 because I feel it accomplished exactly what it was trying for- presenting several short Junji Ito short stories on a budget.
Granted, my opinion may be based on my enjoyment of any interpretation of Ito's stories- from the beautiful Uzumaki film to the low budget Marronnier venture and everything beyond. While I totally respect other opinions, I personally think this is a fantastic volume in the various products of Ito love and it has a special place in my heart (and I'm not just saying that because of my love of the end credits song!).
