Tim Allen's best movie. The other performers did real well, and the story came together. The humor was black and rare in the beginning, but got much better as it went along. My favorite came at the end with the stuck-in-the-mud sheriff is getting mystical treatment for smoking cigarettes! The mute child finding his voice at the end was unnecessary. The father/son revelation was predictable, but, in the end, satisfyingly understated. Hilarious when two lawmen are shooting-at each other-through the building yelling "Taking fire!"
