There is more to this movie than one would think, given the subject and Vince Vaughan. To be sure, Vince does his usual stuff, but the movie has some really tender moments, as well. Get through the beginning, which is a fairy tale beginning and get ready for a joyful romp with Vince as Fred Claus, the older brother of Nick, Paul Giamati, as Santa Claus. Needless to say, there is friction, complicated by the arrival of an efficiency expert, played well by Kevin Spacey. Christmas and Santa are in jeoplardy, but not as common a plot twist for this type of film. There is more than meets the eye. The Snow Globe scene will get you choked up, if you have any heart at all. It's a lot of fun, and very family friendly.
