I would have never guessed that BBC can make such amazing productions. I've adored Leo Tolstoy's book, and this movie tries to respect as much as the plot as it can be done for a movie, and it does a successful attempt at that. Simply beautifully acting by Lily James, James Norton and Paul Dano. The depiction of the war scenes, the tragedies of the tumultuous life that goes on is simply wonderful to watch. You fell in love with Bolkonsky, Bezukhov and Rostova. You turn to despise Helene Kuragina or admire the great ambition of Boris (played beautifully by Aneurin Barnard). It is a series that if you turn it on, you cannot stop it until reaching the final moment of the final episode, with weeks of tumultuous thoughts pouring in.
