Simon Templar meets up with an old friend Bill Harvey (David Hedison) and his wife Doris.

Bill is an American banker who has received a promotion and will be spending time in London because of his work.

When Doris is suddenly called away to Paris because her sister is about to give birth.

The Saint and Bill go out to party. Only Simon Templar tries his best to keep Bill on the straight and narrow.

Bill wants to party, gamble and have dames. He wins big on roulette. Later he ends up falling for a honey trap when glamorous Luella takes him to her apartment.

Bill is then photographed in a compromising position and ends up paying her 'husband' £2000 to get rid of the photo.

The Saint realizes that Bill has been duped and sets out to reverse the tables.

Clearly meant to be a lighthearted episode. This one ends up being a bad farce. The only thing missing was a custard pie fight.

It seemed the script was quickly knocked off. The argument between Bill and Doris stank of 1960s sexism.

The big plus was David Hedison. He had lots of energy and a good chemistry with Roger Moore. I can see why Hedison later teamed up with Moore in a James Bond movie where he played Felix Leiter.

I did raise an eyebrow when Simon was mistaken for James Bond at the end of the episode.
