I am seriously puzzled by some of the high ratings and accolades given this film. It is rather formulaic in the sense that many B movies or Indie movies are. I watched it some years ago, and based on the reviews, decided to give it another try. I wasted my time. It is essentially a run of the mill horror flick with name actors and better special effects. I actually watched an old flick a while back that was basically Satan taking over a spaceship. It held my attention better than this did. It tries so hard to scare, but falls short, relying on oodles of blood and suggested gore. Given the cast involved, this could have been a much better movie.
