Sarah, a children's book author, returns to her grandmother's small town after leaving heartbroken when a magical cookie revealed her true love to be the boy-next-door who is marrying someone else! She discovers the Travis is no longer married and has a Christmas-and-book-loving daughter. Sarah begins to wonder if the Kismet Cookies knew her one true love after all.
A flashback scene in New Haven reveals a young Sarah's Christmas heartbreak. Travis lives next door to Sarah's Gramma Mia when they are young.
