I can understand the peer pressure and the revenge happened in school, but her brother and parents are so unnecessary annoying, it's almost like I'm watching a Asian documentary talking about how the parents love their male children more than female children.
Cassie doesn't deserve all of this, and I don't understand why would she likes Sean, just because he's handsome?? He is the dumbest boy I have ever seen, Cassie is smart and a typical goth girl, why would she likes a jock who don't even know how to write an essay?
The monster part is the least interesting part in the movie by the way.
