Warning: Spoilers
Isla Masters and Grace Heineman both fell for the same young man, an extremely troubled youth named Jake Carter. Jake seemed all too content remain as long as he could as a bigamist. But the grudge between the two young women escalated to a nasty "public" exchange on the internet, and it eventually led to the death of young Grace.

"He's Not Worth Dying For" was not so much a sizzling romance, but a tale of dueling divas. Grace is absolutely determined to ruin the reputation of Isla as an internet "influencer." For her part, Isla will stop at nothing in order to besmirch Grace's character.

It was difficult to believe that a superstar student like Grace would transfer schools to be closer to Jake. It also stretched credibility that she would become obsessed with Isla to the degree that she would at one point nearly run her over with a car.

The filmmakers struggled in the attempt to develop a theme of Jekyll and Hyde personalities that evolve over the internet where one is adopting a different persona. Grace had too many good values to transform into a monster.

It was also a stretch to follow the film's thread of the importance placed on internet "followers." One of the most interesting characters was Grace's friend Ari, who was sensible enough not to be lured into the wilderness of social media. She offered good advice to Grace, who neither listened to her or her loving parents.

In the end, this unpleasant melodrama tried too hard to offer a moral lesson about the addictive powers of the internet. It also lacked an effective denouement in which we never learned the judge's decision about Isla. There was a very effective defense attorney, and the verdict might have been a lenient one, based on the trial.
