This film asks a very straight-forward question; a very complex question. What is the value of a human life? How can this truly, ethically and fairly even be answered? Leave it to 9/11 to spark an approach to find that answer. So that unenvious task falls to a law firm to develop the plan of creating formulas for each person killed and what their payout should be. They hear from their respected families with a mix of anger in group settings and when the individuals meet with the lawyers one-on-one, you hear the tearful memories and stories which are moments when many viewers will also hold back tears. How will the lead lawyer navigate this daunting task? This is basically a legal drama mixed with countless tragic stories and certain groups advocating for self-centered reasons or for the good of everyone. Cinematically, it was fairly bland but the acting helped the unambiguous dialog.
