Now This Is A Show I Used to Watch
13 July 2022
Cleopatra 2525 was debut alongside Jack Of All Trades as part of an hour-long block called Back2Back Action Pack, which would replace Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.

Cleopatra (Cleo for short, played by. Jennifer Sky) is an exotic dancer who was frozen when an attempt at breast enhancement surgery goes wrong. She soon wakes ups in the year 2525, a dark time where humanity has been forced underground by flying machines known as Baileys. She becomes friends with Hel (played by Gina Torres) and Sarge (played by Victoria Pratt), two women who work for "The Voice", a mysterious entity who controls them and other teams with the aim to retake the Earth's surface.

Yeah, the show's plot may sound like a rip-off of the Terminator films, but Cleopatra 2525 is a good action show. It is a sci-fi show that manages to mix action (as the stories involve the heroines getting into firefights with villains) and humor (Cleopatra spewing movie references). Another thing is has going for it is the use of special effects, as costumes are used for the more alien characters, and CGI is used for some scenes, and while it looks old, it was an interesting choice for a TV show. Sadly, the show only lasted two seasons (ending on a major cliffhanger), but this is neat show that deserves to be checked out.
