You Had Me at Aloha (2021 TV Movie)
5/10
Potential but comes up short
2 July 2022
I don't watch WCTH so I'm not all too familiar with the cast. I disagree with others who said they have no chemistry because I thought they fit well together. The whole banter thing worked because of them. Storyline has potential but it just never gets there for me. I also kept thinking they reminded me of like had they cast Rob Lowe and Brooke Burke and then just used their standins. Also, and mostly this- I could not get over the Canadian accents. I know that's not fair. Especially since they weren't trying to hide it. But it was so distracting for me. Hawaii is pretty but they didn't take full advantage. Yes covid made things more difficult but the outside things could have been better. They could have done more. Something is just missing for me here. It's pretty average all around for a hallmark movie. And I watch a lot of them. I've definitely seen worse. The main characters ease in acting was definitely the best part, oh and Hawaii. Obviously.
