. . . certainly slights the odd grass and lass. Right from the start, an ice queen capriciously brings everyone to the brim of doom. Later another wench is depicted beating some guy bobbing for apples. But MELODY TIME's most egregious example of a wanton witch concludes this half baker's dozen of stories, when "Slew Foot Sue" connives to clip the wings of Western hero Pecos Bill. Fortunately for her target groom, Sue chooses to get bucked on her wedding night. Some guys are "saved by the bell," but in Bill's case, he's saved by the bustle. Talk about a close call!
