Adapted from Yan Lianke's novel of the same name, the movie has more disadvantages. The most obvious one is the embarrassing acting of the main characters: the actress always speaks in one tone without fluctuation. And the process of falling in love is incongruous and ridiculous. Could two people in their thirties fall in love just because of one time of sex? Let alone the woman is the second most powerful person in this region. The description of soldiers is also unreasonable. Soldiers in socialist countries would be more cautious, if they want to bully someone, they would choose to play dirty tricks instead of making some obvious wounds. Talking about rumours of leader's wife only could happen when the soldier wants to go home with an inexplicable punishment!
